2010-11 Craft & Product Trend Report from Origin

on 29/10/10

Craft is well & truly back on the agenda and last month saw London pull out all the stops to present the fifth Origin: The London Craft Fair. Located in the newly furbished Old Spitalfields Market, the prestigious event played host to over 220 creative and talented makers of contemporary craft. New and established makers from across the world came together to present their inspiring work across a variety of disciplines including ceramics, fashion accessories, jewellery, glass, knitwear, furniture, metalwork, interiors and millinery. The event was highly popular and acts as an effective platform for new exhibitors.

The craft market works at a slower pace & closer to season than most fashion or product, as it is often sold directly to the customer, Origin encompasses the beauty and sheer talent that lies within the world of crafts and is defined by the exhibition's slogan of 'Made Not Manufactured'.

The Trend Boutique was really impressed by the work of various makers and we have picked a number of trend directions we felt were distinctive and unique at Origin this year.
