From Somewhere are going from strength to strength at the moment, from recently winning The Observer Ethical Awards 2010 for fashion & accessories to their stunning Autumn Winter 2010-11 collection. This is an eco brand with real credibility and pioneering spirit, having been championing recycled fashion since 1997 and they are also co-founders & co-curators for London Fashion Week's Estethica exhibition.
The Autumn Winter 2010-11 collection is a delicate mix of extremely wearable daywear combined with evening dresses that truly live up to one of From Somewhere's principles that they identified early on in their business, that 'eco fashion needs to be first & foremost glamorous'.

With each collection being made using luxury pre-consumer waste, such as sample swatches, off cuts & end rolls it is these fabrics that act as the initial creative catalyst, as ultimately its what other designers throw away that defines the end style From Somewhere create.
For this Autumn Winter 2010-11 collection it has 4-5 distinct looks each as beautiful as the next, from the feminine recycled lace & jersey pieces in soft 'nude' & smoky pastels palette, to the super sleek 'bodycon' dresses in vibrant black & red, as well as the dramatic, jaw-dropping evening dresses that really do not show any signs of their more humble beginnings. The Trend Boutique particularly like the 'cropped' knitwear, illustrating just how on trend & versatile each piece can be.

The Trend Boutique really admire how Orsola de Castro & Filippo Ricci, the co-founders of From Somewhere have been positively pushing the boundaries surrounding ethical & environmentally friendly fashion since their inception. The concept of zero wastage is now growing in momentum and its pioneers such as From Somewhere that are helping to readdress the balance between consumption and responsible disposal of any wastage.
From Somewhere's way of re-thinking the fashion industry’s leftovers, reclaiming and up-cycling as a design solution to an environmental problem is making a real impact, they have also recently started tackling new areas, with collaborations with Tesco & a new manufacturing initiative that supports disadvantaged people to produce the garments whilst reducing carbon footprint.
