The Trend Boutique really liked this unique Autumn Winter 2011-12  outerwear and accessories collection by Icelandic designer Sigrún Halla Unnarsdóttir. We came across this designer whilst carrying out our trends research & felt it had touches of our 'Radical' trend direction. Exhibiting as part of Iceland Fashion Week we felt this collection really stood out amongst a new wave of up-&-coming designers that The Trend Boutique are currently tracking.

The collection entitled 'Belong Together' is inspired by things, objects and humans that belong together in one way or another. The matching couples interact with each other through colours and shapes and the collection focuses on jackets in various forms, shoes and bags.

Reindeer leather, originating from the designer's home region on the East Coast of Iceland is the main material used to produce the collection, other natural and organic materials seen within the collection include 100% wool, 100% cotton and wool jersey.

The designer worked closely with Danish shoe manufacturers Ecco to produce the range of shoes to accompany the collection, managing to incorporate the same materials used within the collection. With a rich colour palette, The Trend Boutique loved the large scale cut outs featured and the way the accessories are melded with the garments themselves. We also liked how the collection had a real androgynous feel running throughout & look forward to featuring more collections in the future.
