The Trend Boutique love these concrete buckles by Sruli Recht as seen in our Spring Summer 2011 trend report. For the "Austerity" trend we wrote, "craftsmanship is once again revered, and we learn to love simpler, more straightforward materials such as paper, leathers, and even concrete", and these concrete buckles are just that.
Concrete Buckle is a set of 4 hand cast belt buckles with bar and hook bent from sealed reclaimed steel, boxed with a horse-skin Black Sable, Rose Grey and Bay Red belt.

Suri's work is inspired by the resonance of process.
He explains, "design lines are more of a result of process and form, than they are a decision. That is not to say my work just happens... I know what it will look like before I do it, but there is a mid point where everything liquefies, all forms and finishings... and hardens right at the last moment. Up till that moment when the last button is on it is still unformed."
