Hungarian designer and recent graduate Dóra Mojzes latest collection has taken inspiration from some of the most iconic names of the 80's David Bowie, Grace Jones and Blondie with dramatic silhouttes and some 'wow factor' shine. Added to this her designs all have a futuristic feel bought about by her love of all things sci-fi, ensuring a new twist on the 80's trend that has recently come to a crescendo with a flurry of shoulder pads.

What The Trend Boutique like about Dóra is the way she effortlessly blends that high gloss glamour, with distinctively wearable pieces. The combination of matte vs shiny surfaces and a similar contrast in terms of shape, with sculptural & angular shoulders against nipped in waists that emphasis the curves, all ensure the silhouette doesn't become to stiff.
Although only just starting out, having graduated in 2008, Dóra's goal was to create a collection that was wearable, but that also picked up on her darker side. For some of her academic and earlier work her ranges had a certain sense of theatre, however understanding that to create a business she would need to design clothes for everyday, she seems to have managed to balance the commerciality required without loosing the drama.

As a newcomer we like Dóra's fresh and honest approach to her business as she takes us through her various commercial and academic collections on her website. We also particularly liked her leather accessories range (she studied fancy-leather goods in high school & for a semester in university) plus her clever combinations of 'Forties' and origami-inspired ranges.
Dóra has also created amazing collections based on Oleg Dou's portraits and collaborations with surreal, fashion photographer Madame Peripetie, we really look forward to seeing more from this talented designer.
