Eco-brand Globe Hope recently launched their latest collection for Spring Summer 10 based around the concept of Gaia, Mother Earth and our need to protect it. The Trend Boutique really like the simplicity of this label and how it creates an effortless charm whilst ensuring it considers the sustainabilty of its range.

The idea of Globe Hope was born from the desire to design and produce quality ecologically aware fashion for people who value sustainable development. Globe Hope clothing has been given a new life from already existing products and materials such as old hospital textiles, army wear, work-wear and vintage materials, by re-cutting, re-sewing, dyeing and printing each new design becomes a homage to a little piece of history.
With the new Spring / Summer 2010 collection Globe Hope wants to pay homage to Mother Earth (seen as the godess of fertility & the basis of our existence) by focusing on the importance of preserving and loving our planet and all that is has to offer. Each item in the collection has that much loved feel, stylish, simple, a new piece for us to cherish, ensuring that we move away from that 'throw away' culture.

Features of the Spring-Summer 2010 collection includes 60’s and 70’s vintage florals and flowy, light silk scarves accentuating femininity in a girly, playful way. It is also sees more utilitarian materials, like army skirts and snow camouflage suits are re-formed in to clothing and accessories with more of an edge. Plus decades old linen towels have been turned into adorable dresses and skirts that can be accompanied by their purses and bags made from old sails that have sailed the Finnish archipelago (the seas between the multitude of islands that form their own region in Findland).
Added to this they offer prints that have Art Nouveau -inspired graphics and patterned organic cotton tricot which spells out the Globe Hope motto “I recycle fashion” in a lovingly rich and playful way. As if all that wasn't enough, part of the profit of Globe Hope’s SS10 collection will be donated towards research to prevent breast cancer, The Trend Boutique can't see what there is not to like about this eco-brand.
