Fence Collection by Bok

The latest collection by Sander Bokkinga is one of those quirky 'cool finds' that when you first experience you're not quite sure why you like it, you just do. Sometimes it is good not to rationalise things too much, and the work by Bok (as he's otherwise known), is one of those times. You just need to enjoy it.

Trained as an architect, Bok who originates from the Netherlands, set up his own design label back in 2006 where the ethos of his company was to create 'objects' that didn't exist before, but needed to me made. He also creates special one-offs and projects which have a slightly more architectural feel, but still retain quite a basic rusticity about them.

Most recently he developed the 'Fence' Collection that was exhibited at Salone Internazionale del Mobile, Milan, which bought together some of his previous design concepts and mixed them with the new. Inspired by the humble fence, Bok has used untreated sawn tree trunks that are normally used for the farm fences and gates to create his eclectic furniture designs.

The Trend Boutique also like his previous collection that made use of the garden hosepipe to create a floorlamp, relax-chair, dining chair & stool furniture designs, what we particularly like though is that you can still plug the furniture into a tap & the water will amazingly run through the whole piece. With each of Bok's work being limited limited & numbered series, with only 30 pieces of each being made, we can see them being collectibles now & in the future.
