Profile Information

Eppie is just completing in her final year of fashion design & will graduate in 2011. Studying Fashion Design at Northumbria University, her specialist pathway has been print / textiles. During her degree, Eppie has enjoyed all aspects of design within the course, but has found her main strengths lie in print design and manufacture. Something she put into action during her placement year where she worked as a Studio Assistant for Heidi Seeker.

What was the inspiration behind your final collection / project?

Robots and Japanese street-wear. I wanted to create a fashionable sportswear/cycling collection for young women.

Describe the key features of your collection / project?

Graphic robot inspired prints. Safety features with reflective vinyl for night tine cycling. And small colour change details in the prints.

Have you completed any work experience or industry collaborations?

I worked for a year at Heidi Seeker in their studio helping to design accessories. I also entered the BFC Adidas Olympic 2012 sportswear competition and was awarded 2nd place for my capsule swimwear collection.

What are your short or long-term career aspirations?

I have always wanted to own my own print studio so I could experiment with my own print ideas and sell my samples onto industry, and also collaborate with other designers so I can make exciting prints for their garment shapes.

Do you have any words of wisdom that you could pass on to 1st or 2nd year students?

Don’t cut corners, if you want to do something, do it to the best of your abilities.
