Alidra originally studied Art History & Contemporary Art and you can see these disciplines shining through in her work in the way she has an immense eye for detail & composition within each piece. She has then gone on to meld this knowledge with the traditional techniques used by goldsmiths that she learnt at Denmark's Institute of Precious Metals.

Alidra likes to take her work towards art pieces, rather than simple ornaments, and as a result her work is seen in galleries & exhibitions as often as it is worn. She wants the admirers of her work to be drawn into wearing them through a sense of intrigue & curiosity, not just desire for the latest statement piece. 'Lack of function' and 'illusion' are recurrent themes in her work as she pushes the boundaries of what is achievable, but at the same time it is her keen observations & detailing that draw you in rather than the need to shock. Her passion for her materials & subject matter always shines through to deliver a series of delicate & beautiful designs.

Creating her ranges & commissions from her studio in the heart of Copenhagen, she has also collaborated successfully on some major professional projects where her blend of jewellery, sculpture and visual arts has been very much in demand, she is has had her work published in a number of books & has been commended for an awards for young contemporary jewellery. An amazing, but well deserved level of achievement from a very talented artist & designer.
