Editorial Intern - The Trend Boutique
The Trend Boutique is currently looking for 2 x unpaid Editorial Interns to assist with researching & writing articles for the News, Events & 'Cool Find' sections of the website.
As we head into one of the busiest times of the year editorially with the forthcoming Fashion Weeks, Trade Fairs & Graduate Degree shows we require 2 x dedicated interns to give us a hand behind the scenes.
Key Aspects of the Role(s):
- Making sure each day that we are aware of the latest industry news from new product launches to events across all product areas
- Creating articles based on your findings through a variety of mediums from simple facebook posts to full news articles, event reviews or 'cool finds'
- Liaising with press contacts to ensure that we are sent the latest press releases & images (& chasing up where required as time is often of the essence to get a story published before our competitors)
- Updating the database with any new contacts
- Assisting to prepare reviews of key catwalk shows & trade exhibitions
Skills & Key Requirements:
- The ability to write strong, concise content
- Confident approach & good telephone manner
- Attention to detail & good visual eye
- Strong awareness of current affairs and the latest & most directional designers, brands, artists etc
- Previous academic or industry experience in this area is a bonus
Ideally the candidate will be a student looking for a short to medium placement or a recent graduate wanting to gain valuable work experience & contacts. Interns can apply now for placements to take place any time between now & the end of the summer.
Interns should be available for 1 month, although for the right person this can be extended for a longer period. Reasonable travel expenses will be paid, so would suit those that are or can be based in Nottingham or the surrounding area.
Access to your own laptop with Microsoft Office (& Adobe Photoshop) - although we do have spare laptops / Adobe Phtoshop etc if required.
In return: interns will also get help & advice with careers, valuable contacts and to attend events & trend briefings taking place on a regular basis. The Trend Boutique try to be flexible in terms of hours in the office & days worked. We also always aim to ensure that you get valuable experience / work for your portfolio.
