Trends Intern - The Trend Boutique
The Trend Boutique is currently looking for an unpaid creative & dedicated Intern to assist with the compilation of our seasonal trend reports.
Each season The Trend Boutique create a series of major trend reports that are the lifeblood of the site and consist of in-depth reports covering Colour, 4 x Guides to the Season, Fashion, Textiles, Architecture, Interiors & Furniture, Product & Technology and for the first time this season we aim to introduce new Macro trend reports decoding & showcasing the research behind the themes plus Accessories, Footwear & Hosiery.
We pride ourselves on the originality & directional nature of our trends, however as a small team we require a dedicated intern to give us a hand behind the scenes.
Key Aspects of the Role:
- Assist in the sourcing of images to convey the trends (of which you will be briefed) & gaining full editorial permissions - finding the right image is an absolutely key (& often frustrating) aspect of trends research so you will need a good visual eye, patience & a methodical approach
- Put together visual trend boards using Photoshop, which will be used within the main body of the reports
- Creating the PDF versions of the reports using InDesign
- Developing additional 'Cool Find' articles where possible
- Updating the database with any new press contacts
Skills & Key Requirements:
- Good working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop & InDesign
- Attention to detail & good visual eye
- Strong awareness of current affairs and the latest & most directional designers, brands, artists etc
- Previous academic or industry experience in this area is a bonus
Ideally the candidate will be a student looking for a short to medium placement or a recent graduate wanting to gain valuable work experience & contacts. Interns can apply now for placements to take place any time between now & the end of the summer.
Interns should be available for 1 month, although for the right person this can be extended for a longer period. Reasonable travel expenses will be paid, so would suit those that are or can be based in Nottingham or the surrounding area.
Access to your own laptop with Microsoft Office (& Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, & In Design is a bonus) - although we do have spare laptops / Adobe Phtoshop etc if required.
