The Trend Boutique really love the the fresh, yet simple approach to design of Keisuke Hori. With a quirky take on product design Keisuke has come up with some unusual ideas from the 'finger' or 'drum' cup to 'sound cutlery'.
Keisuke is a product designer that originally graduated from Kanazawa International Design Institute (KIDI) in Japan, before working at the influential Studio Tord Boontje, plus The Cottage Industry & European Ceramic Work Centre. Most recently Keisuke studied at the leading Dutch Design Academy in Eidenhoven.
With much of Keisuke's work focussing around ceramics and everyday objects, we particularly liked his coffee set concept. Bought about through wanting to simplify this morning ritual and condense the space taken up by various paraphenalia, his idea was to make 3 cups of equal size that each carried out part of the coffee making process. When 2 of the 3 pieces are stacked together they create the actual coffee filter or pot and the 3rd the cup. When not in use they simply become an aesthetically pleasing set of ceramics that you would happily display anywhere.
