KiBiSi Design

Hot of the press, The Trend Boutique have just heard about a new design group called KiBiSi that has been formed which is already producing some amazing product ideas and concepts that really break the mould, both in terms of the product, but also in a new collaborative approach to working.
KiBiSi merges each of the elements of its founders into a symbiotic hybrid of design, architecture and ideation: this consists of the production know-how and design sensibility of Kilo Design – the big ideas and large scale perspective of BIG architects - and the idea driven innovation and brand awareness of Skibsted Ideation.

They believe that ‘Ideas and products are intrinsically tied’ and therefore the product should be the ‘carrier of its brand idea rather than some designer’s form and formula’. In the fertile overlap between Design, Architecture and Ideation, KiBiSi is looking to ‘spawn a new breed of idea driven design’.
We have already fallen in love with their effortless, beautiful design including the Expo Chair 2010 a molded plywood chair designed for the Danish EXPO Pavilion, Shanghai 2010, produced by HAY. (Note - The Shanghai Expo is one of the biggest sources of Trend & Design Information you can wish for with amazing large scale architectural projects that completely wow the mind). We also really liked the Tube Chair developed for the 61 000 m2 mixed use project in CPH, 8 HOUSE. A stackable chair manufactured of wood and aluminium, produced by HAY that has future design classic stamped all over it.

Another fun project was their Puma Bike series a modern take on the bike for urban use, based on different bike typologies, it includes design feature such as unique carrier solutions, merging basket, carrier and handlebar in one, and is produced by Biomega.
