Lego Architecture

If you have ever stood in awe at a Frank Llloyd Wright building and thought I wish I'd designed that, but haven't already got your hands on one of these LEGO sets, then now you know what to put on the top of your Xmas list.
The Trend Boutique simply love the idea of being able to create your own Frank Lloyd Wright building in LEGO bricks, this iconic architect has had such a major influence over the years it is such an amazing opportunity to have your own, albeit in miniature proportions.
Lego has had such a resurgence in recent years, due to the general socio-economic move towards a sense of ‘fun & play’ in those dark times of recession and terrorism. From the LEGO Camera, where you can take the outer parts of the camera to pieces and rebuild to James May’s Lego house, generally LEGO has been the medium of choice for self-expression and creativity. No longer is it the domain of the under tens as we wrestle with the kid next door for a slice of the action.

Lego Architecture - 'Fallingwater ' by Frank Lloyd Wright
Originally the ‘Architecture Collection’ was introduced in 2008 by The LEGO Group in conjunction with Adam Reed Tucker of Brickstructures Inc. The line currently consists of six buildings – now including two of Frank Lloyd Wright’s most famous and recognizable buildings, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and “Fallingwater.”
With models developed in collaboration with architects, LEGO Architecture works to inspire future architects, engineers and designers as well as architecture fans around the world with the LEGO brick as a medium. Builders of all ages can now collect and construct their favourite worldwide architectural sites through these artistic replicas.
Both exclusive Frank Lloyd Wright LEGO Architecture sets contain booklets that feature traditional building instructions along with exclusive archival historical material and photographs of each iconic building. The LEGO Group released the first of the LEGO Architecture Frank Lloyd Wright Collection® sets at the opening of the Frank Lloyd Wright Exhibit: From Within Outward at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum on May 15, 2009.
The possibilities of these LEGO sets are endless, from inspiring future designers and engineers to the sheer number of iconic buildings it would be such fun to build. It’s great also for the likes of the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation to get involved in a project with such a universal appeal, showing how design can become so instantly accessible.
