The Trend Boutique like these Liquid Lights by Tanya Clarke because they not only have a industrial, yet fragile feel to them but because they also act to highlight the need for fresh, clean drinking water around the globe & 5% of the proceeds are donated to Polaris Institute.
Showing similarities to another of our favourites the Pieke Bergman's 'Light Blubs' and the 'Light Drop' by Italian designer Rafael Morgan, these artists / designers have harnessed the trends for functionality & austerity, that The Trend Boutique have been highlighting for Spring Summer 2011. Channelling this pared down aesthetic into a delicate 'micro trend' of their own through skilled glass-blowing craftsmanship and a playful take on the classics.

These hand-crafted light installations are a hybrid between art & functional industrial design with each piece having an individual feel, both as a design feature & necessity as the structures that the glass ornamental bulbs hang from are fashioned from waste products. A great example of how our functionality can have a softer design aesthetic whilst also making an environmental statement too. Recycling aimed at this generation.
