Museo Aero Solar by Tomas Sarenco

A great idea, and quite a simple concept - to create a giant floating museum of the modern world, made out of the 'bane of our lives' the plastic bag.
Museo Aero Solar by the influential artist / designer Tomas Sarenco is based around the idea of creating a flying 'museum' out of plastic bags that uses solar power to get it off the ground. Unlike a normal museum it is constructed at various locations around the world, creating an individual look and feel according to the country it was created due to its unusual building material. This is because the basic plastic bags used are so very different in design, and virtually create a modern representation or record of our everyday life.

Museo Aero Solar Being Created Using Recycled Plastic Bags
Like one of those giant inflatable sculptures the 'museum' is large enough to fit quite a few people in it, in fact the size and nature of it is determined also by the number of recycled plastic bags donated. Each time that it will land there will be more plastic bags added from the local community where shape and content will be actualized, and in this way augmenting the flight distance. The bags are of any style, thickness or type - as long as they are recycled and then donated at the predetermined collection points. Making a great community art project and one that literally anyone can become involved in.

Museo Aero Solar
Tomas Sarenco work often focuses around the use of lightweight materials, what is different about this project is this community involvement and the simplicity of the project, as it travels from continent to continent 'growing with solar and human energy .... a viable solar mobility to the un-sustainability of our airplanes. In search of new frontiers, where each launch will be questioning and challenging the existing military air division of this world...'
