The Trend Boutique are totally inspired by the the work of Dutch designer Geke Wouters who creates both products in her own right plus has also opened up her unique natural materials for other designer & artists to use.
The delicate bowls she has made from vegetables such as chicory, carrot, beetroot, paprika & leek are perfectly in tune with our Spring Summer 2012 theme 'Harvest' with their fragile aesthetic & the ability to be fully composted. Using her own unique 'secret' process she uses these natural ingredients to create a completely new material that she then fashions into beautiful rustic bowls & vases that still allow the individual pigments & irregularities to shine through.

Finding innovative solutions within design, where sustainability is at the heart of the process & thinking, will be imperative over the next decade and we like that each of Geke's pieces has this message running through them. Beautiful in design and also in nature.
