Not since the Queen's Jubilee in 1977 or the Cool Britannia phase of the early nineties have we seen such blatant flag-waving, however this micro trend that initially kicked off in late 2008 with Alexander McQueen's Union Jack boots & clutch shows no sign of abating just yet.
Fitting perfectly with our neo-conservative trend, many have a nostalgic feel to them combining a 'make do & mend' vintage spirit with a sense of nationalism. With the run up to 2012 London Olympic Games The Trend Boutique feel that designers will continue to find inspiration from British culture and heritage for another season, especially with the softer and less obvious takes.
